So i get an email back from them saying, "here we made something in MSPaint, this is what we want"
I dont know, maybe im the one who doesnt understand design, this seems to happen a lot, its very discouraging. Think of it like you bought somebody a christmas present that you just knew they would LOVE! and when they open it they ask if they can return it...

Man...I just wrote you this huge comment, but my internet messed up...like always.
In a quick summary:
You must convey the reasons you made your design the way it is.
Be happy they gave you a visual to go by. And not just a "try again"
Get off the soapbox. And take in the essentials of what they sent you and build on it.
Make their jaws drop.
Anyways...the first post would have probably brought tears to your eyes... but I lost it in the matrix.
